Just a question-not really important but I have been curious about the practices in other states and countries about this issue...every time I go to the hospital, I am given a private room. Even when I am in for non-kidney related things, I am in one. My doctor requires this for all transplant recipients no matter what the reason for the stay. It has been like this for 28 yrs. I DO like this about being a kidney tx recipient since I am kind of a loner type and like to do my "own thing", i.e., being able to stay up late and read or knit when I can't sleep, not having to chat when I feel crummy, etc.Only thing about it I don't really like is that if I am in the hospital for something, I must be placed on the ward for that type of problem (not the usual kidney ward) and it takes FOREVER for them to clean the room (I mean by tx cleanliness standards!
